Technology has both advantages and disadvantages but the advantages are more prevalent in my opinion. I think that technology can be good for everyone if they use it right. By using technology in the correct ways you're able to check your grades on the go, send a quick email to your teacher saying you won't be in class today or simply just googling a question on your homework you're unsure about.
Technology can be bad in classrooms because kids can get off topic more quickly and hide it by simply going to a different tab, and the thought of copying someone else's work comes to mind more often when you see how easy it would be to make it yours. |
Learning Blogs:
Administration Blog Teachers aren't the only staff that is involved when it comes to a school in fact they're just a small fraction of what makes up a school district.
In McKinney ISD there are a lot of people such as Rick McDaniel who is the superintendent or Elena Rodriguez who is in charge of making sure one class is not super crowded or transfers. These people are involved in helping the school obtain a good graduation rate, and making sure each student is comfortable in their environment. Principles also play a really big part in helping keep these roles prevalent in the school because on campus everyone looks up to them as an example. How I Learn Blog The brain is split into left and right sides which is then broke down into the creative side and the logic side, left side is the logical side and right side is the creative side. Teachers are constantly trying to combine the two. I learn best when teachers have a visual that aids me in what they are teaching, I prefer powerpoints that say exactly what I need to know and then teachers cover the important ideas of the slide.

What is principles of education and training? |
In this class we learn how to become a teacher or how to become a better teacher and what skills are needed to advance in this career and what items are good for learning and what items might slow down someones learning path.

Although I don't want to be a teacher this class is useful to me because I learn skills needed to learn better or just the challenges teachers face which allow me to understand a little more of why teachers are sometimes stressed!

What would I do if I was principle?
If I was a principle I think I would change a few things to make sure teachers and students are happy, some students hate the class they're assigned to be in and some teachers hate the students because they are difficult. To change this I would let each of them get a feel for what the class will be like and if either side feels as if a change is needed a meeting will be held and no solution can be found then the student as well as every other student who feels the same will be moved into a study hall class where a teacher will be hired for. I would change the tardy policy but wouldn't tell students just if they are running late simply ask them what on this morning that made them late and then tell them "have a good day and just get to class, hopefully tomorrow morning goes better" this rule would only be present if you got to school by 7:40. Off campus lunch can be earned through good behavior, if your teachers feel as if you've had a good week (Monday through Thursday) then on Friday you may have off campus lunch but just like regular lunch have to be back within the 30 minute span time limit.

Water is Wide
Water is Wide is a movie about a teacher in 1969 (Jeff Hephner) striving to bring literacy to underprivileged children on an island off the coast of South Carolina. Jeff tries many new teaching skills to motivate the all black class he has been assigned such as singing or making field trips to include every student. Brown, the head mistress before punished the students and didn't allow the children to have any fun making them not want to learn. Everything changes once Hephner takes on Browns role things begin to change and the students begin to enjoy school like never before.

My Goal Update:
My goal for awhile has been to get a job that allows me to work on the weekdays and on the weekends, I haven't been really pushing to get a job because my parents are paying for everything so there is no need. I would like to get a job soon though just so during the summer I can have something to occupy my time.
Survey Blog:
Number of people surveyed- I surveyed 6 people
Respondents who picked- 2 people chose student
1 chose community member
2 people were parents
1 chose a teacher
Secretary of education- Half of the people surveyed (3) knew that the secretary of education was Betsy DeVos while the remaining either had no idea and one chose Mike Pence.
The top priorities- Teacher certification
Student loans
Common Core curriculum
Standardized textbooks
Issues in schools today- A lot of people chose that bullying is a large issue in schools and I would have agree with them but there will always be bullying because students aren't the same so someone will find something different about them and bully for them. Someone else thought that the administration team could use a change because of how they don't connect with the students or teach in a way that is teachable to everyone. Both of these issues can be considered major issues but for me I think the students are a major problem, I think students disrespect teachers because they think they are grown or that education won't be an important part in their life in which they wrong.
